How to Cook Food in Genshin Impact

Cooking is very important in Genshin Impact especially in late game content as monsters become way harder to deal with, if you are not a whale and spam reset to get the best artifacts and weapons, food can offer you that extra strength to get passed that obstacle so how do you cook.

Cooking in Genshin Impact

Players are able to cook Food and process ingredients at stoves located in cities like Mondstadt and Liyue, at numerous campfires that can be found in the open world, as well as with the one-use time limited crafted consumable Adepti Seeker’s Stove. Campfires and stoves that are put out must be lit by Pyro in order to cook. AnemoCryoElectroGeo and Hydro effects, including rainy weather, (due to SwirlMeltOverloadedCrystallize and Vaporize, respectively) can extinguish both campfires and stoves, preventing cooking.

Some characters have special passive Talents that give them a chance to double the output received when they are the character selected and perform a perfect cook. Characters also have a specific character linked special dish they have a 20% chance to obtain while cooking a specific dish when they are the character selected.

So far, the Raiden Shogun is the only character that is unable to cook.

How to Cook Special Dishes

While cooking, you may open the character selection to select a character that can make a special dish.

Characters’ special dishes are of an even higher quality than Delicious dishes, giving even higher bonuses/stats when eaten, making them desirable.

Special dishes have a low chance of being made through both automatic and manual cooking. This chance also applies to Normal and even Suspicious variants of the recipe. Thus, it is possible to get Special Dishes even when failing manual cooking.

How to Cook

Find a Stove in Liyue or Mondstadt, the easiest one to find is as you are entering Mondstadt gate go up the stairs for a bit until you find a restaurant on your left next to the restaurant as you are going to find a stove click on it to start cooking,

To be able to cook a recipe you need to first have the knowledge about it, try buying some recipes from the restaurant owner by talking to her, after you have the recipe learn it in your inventory and start cooking, put the required ingredients and be quick to stop the indicator in the yellow bar for a perfect cooking, if you succeed 10 times you will be able to make that dish automatically and in any quantity you want granted you have the ingredients for it.
